Bio

From Louisiana but a wandering soul forever searching an abyss.

A.B. Harrison has worked as a writer, director, fight choreographer, dramaturg, photographer, filmmaker, and life-long educator.

His stage plays have been produced in Manhattan and Milwaukee, and he has directed and presented scholarship in Chicago. His thesis play, THE THREAD THAT SNAPPED, was set in a mental hospital and combining original barbershop music, dialogue, and spoken-word poetry.

He has presented research on the representation of violence on stage and film, the influence of the superhero genre on America, and various dramaturgy cases.

Films include (short) Table Crumbs and (unproduced feature-length) The Mountains of Eden; notable stage plays include (full-lengths) THE THREAD THAT SNAPPED; FOUR; BY THE NECK; NEAR THE END, BASTARD HOME; and THE HOUSE SPECIAL.

On either the stage or the photograph, his work is driven to tell stories that investigate the human condition by capturing the sincerity and uniqueness that lies behind the guard. Peace and beauty are forever sought.
